“Dr. Symes, a Consultant Psychologist, rings for the next patient. The door opens and the nurse
shows in Mr. Davis, whose face seems vaguely familiar to Dr. Symes, just as the clock strikes
three. Mr. Davis is consulting Dr. Symes about strange hallucinations and dreams about Time.
The dreams begin and end with the opening of a door, each door and dream leading to the next
stage in a sequence. Mr. Davis says he has been led in this way to Dr. Symes’ consulting room. The
Psychologist advises him not to worry, and to come back again the next day. The nurse shows Mr.
Davis out through the door, and after a few moments Dr. Symes rings for the next patient. The
door opens and the nurse shows in Mr. Davis, whose face seems vaguely familiar to Dr. Symes,
just as the clock strikes three…”
