Among all the Grand-Guignol plays which CBS writer-producer Max Wylie translated in the mid-
Thirties, only a handful, according to him, were found suitable for broadcast. One that eventually
found its way onto The Columbia Workshop was Sous la lumière rouge (Under the Red Lamp) by
Maurice Level and Étienne Rey.
